To put this to the test we are following the Cabbage Soup Diet plan of a 29 year old female from London, she lives a very hectic lifestyle and has one child but she needs to stick to the plan in order to achieve her weight loss goal, no matter how stressful her lifestyle might be! Will she encounter any problems with following the weight loss plan or will this be a straightforward journey, keep reading to find out.

The Cabbage Soup Recipe, what does it contain?

The Cabbage Soup itself contains the following vegetables, spring onions, green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, celery and cabbage. You must add a packet of soup mix and you can add one or two cubes of bullion, low sodium V8 juice and additional seasoning such as parsley, garlic powder and curry powder. In the recipe to do not add heaps of salt, the less salt the better!

In the first 3 days the answer is yes, so how was this accomplished? What foods were included in this weight loss plan, was the Cabbage Soup Diet meal plan followed to plan or was it modified, how much weight loss occurred day by day, you will find this out if you continue to read on.

Day 1 of Cabbage Soup Diet

Reporting on Day 1 of the Cabbage Soup Diet, we learnt that this females starting weight was 14stone 1lb and 2oz, so lets find out what happened on day 1 and what was achieved in order to decrease the starting weight.

“Today is Day 1 my start weight is 14stone 1lb and 2oz, made my batch of soup last night and I’m feeling positive this is going to be easy. So why already can’t I stop thinking about food! Day one of the diet I am allowed to eat as much soup as I want as well as any fruit (no bananas)…the day starts well I have a apple, pear and 2 satsuma’s for breakfast and actually don’t feel that hungry but still can’t stop thinking about when I will eat my soup.

At lunchtime I make my son his lunch (fish fingers never smelt so good) and I heat a big bowl of my soup up, it’s surprisingly good, I added tomatoes with a hint of chili rather than have it plain and I think it’s helped with the flavour, I can do this. The test came when my little one had eaten all he wanted and as I took the plate to the kitchen I wanted to pick at what was left quick as I could throw it in the bin but this just showed me how much I just ate for the sake of it. There must be many mums who also do the same thing! At dinner, I eat another bowl of soup after cooking my other half a pizza and garlic bread the smell is too much but I sit and eat my soup and fresh berries after. Normally I’d snack on crisp but this is a change and it tastes nice as well.

Day 2 of Cabbage Soup Diet

Day 2 and a starting weight of 13st 13lbs and 8oz (weight loss of about 1lb 6oz), the Cabbage Soup Diet meal is already producing results, so what will day 2 bring us on this journey?

“I get up today feeling less bloated. I have noticed no extra wind like people have said might happen with this Cabbage Soup (sorry but that had to be said) am happy I’ve already lost some weight and so I am really on it today. On day two I can have as much soup as I like and as much vegetable and for dinner a jacket potato with a little butter. As I was going out for brunch I have a McDonald’s salad minus the chicken, oh my god I have never had such a plain boring salad in my life but hey I need to lose weight so as my son eats his nuggets and chips I force down this salad remembering I need to look good for my holiday. My stomach must have shrunk already as I don’t feel very hungry but I put my potato in the oven for a few hours and enjoyed my potato with butter. I actually swapped it around instead of having it for dinner I had it for lunch and had my soup for dinner, just a slight change in the Cabbage Soup meal plan. Overall, I am feeling good and can already see a difference in my weight and I don’t feel bloated anymore.”

Day 3 of Cabbage Soup Diet

Day 2 we saw a very positive result and saw how there was an increase in energy through consuming the Cabbage Soup Diet meal plan, less bloating and more positive energy took place. Yes the plan was slightly changed but it was still stuck to, so congratulations so far on a good achievement with this weight loss plan. Let’s find out what happened on Day 3.

“Day 3 and starting weight is 13st 12lbs and 8oz, I am happy as I seem to have lost a lb and my diet is getting easier today I can have soup, fruit and vegetables (no banana or potatoes today). I don’t feel like picking at my sons food anymore and I’m not constantly thinking about food. I had fruit for breakfast which I enjoyed and going to have a soup for lunch and snacks of crunchy vegetables. I have felt slightly lethargic today and have a very slight headache which I put down to cutting my calories so much but It’s nothing bad and it’s in the name of skinny lol.

Had my soup for lunch but was so full I only managed half a bowl which is a first for me but by dinner time I am craving ‘real’ food. I resist cooking myself some dinner with my other half and sit down to my soup but only manage to eat a few mouthfuls, I’m so fed up with it I cave in and have two slices of toast (I’m hoping that I don’t totally ruin it) I feel guilty now but I have never enjoyed toast more in my life and I actually feel really full, guilty and full haha…..sorry”
