Paris fashion week is here, a week where only the most dramatic daring designers take the floor. Expect to see the best from Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Givenchy and Chanel. The weekend saw the Versace collection open the event. Glitter was dominating their show and the collection had models wearing sequinned strapless column dresses and bodices encrusted with crystals. A sparkling effect with glorious colours that burst into yellow, green and red.
Issey Miyake Asian Fashion Designer
Asian fashion and Korean fashion has become an industry trend and Paris fashion weeks saw some great designs. Issey Miyake the Asian designer made a great impact in the opening of the men’s 2012 season line. Pleated pants were on the catwalk as was a display of cotton mix fabric and the Japanese concept of dyeing and layering were also evident. Issey Miyake looks set to take Asian fashion into the future.
From these stunning collection lines we then had to witness some strange shocking fashion designs. American designer Thom Browne and Belgian Walter Van Beirendonck brought onto stage a scene from a horror movie, everyone witnessed some shocking costumes in the Pret-a-Porter show in Paris. What does this type of fashion symbolise? Take a look, it seems to represent a cross between Frankenstein and an American football star who has gone to prison been tangoed and topped off with a menacing mask full of metal spikes, this is all a bit too scary for fashion but as they would say in France c’est comme ça!
It will be interesting to see what the rest of the week has to offer!
